Charter Revision Commission Meeting Cancelled Last Night

The Charter Revision Commission Meeting last night was cancelled. Not enough members showed up. The next meeting is scheduled for wednesday June 27th in the Mayors Reception Room. More information when available will be supplied.

Budget Meeting Tonight Despite No Official Notice. 8:00pm City Hall



According to today's Journal News The City of Yonkers Budget will be voted on tonight. No official notice has been sent out as of 7:50am, despite the Council's own 24 hour notice rule. Interestingly the Ridge Hill Lease will now not be used to fill the budget gap.

(Yonkers, NY – May 24, 2007)…Yonkers City Councilmember Dee Barbato (R-6th Dist.) announces that starting today, Thursday May 24th weekly meetings will be held by the City of Yonkers McMansion Task Force, on Thursday’s, 7pm, in the Mayors Reception Room, 2nd floor, City Hall through the month of June.

The Task Force will continue reviewing the city’s Zoning Code as it relates to floor-to-area ratios for new single and two-family homes, rebuilds of homes, and additions and extensions to existing homes.

The meeting is open to the public.

We have put together a tentative schedule for the Fiscal Year 2008 Budget Hearings. We are trying to finalize the Department meeting times; it appears the dates will be as follows:

Wednesday May 9th – 6:00pm – 9:00pm 6:30- 8:30pm
Monday May 14th – 6:00pm –9:00pm 1:00- 4:30pm
Wednesday May 16th – 6:00pm –9:00pm
Monday May 21st – 6:00pm –9:00pm
Wednesday May 23rd – 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Public Hearing (tentative) –Tuesday May 22nd – City Hall
Public Hearing (tentative) – Tuesday May 29th – Location & time to be determined

We will distribute a finalized list with department schedules as soon as we have confirmation from all departments. Please note that we are requesting for all Budget Hearings to be televised.

7. Xavier’s Restaurant Status Report per Memo from Deputy Corporation Joseph Madden.

8. Annabi – Resolution regarding complaints from tenants at Parkledge Apartment, 220-250 Yonkers Avenue per Memo from Deputy Corporation Counsel Joseph Madden.

LARKIN PLAZA CLOSED DUE TO STREET COLLAPSE

This is a general notice to all residents. There has been a street collapse adjacent to the Metro North train station in Larkin Plaza. Larkin Plaza and Buena Vista Avenue (between Wells Avenue and Main Street) have been closed until further notice. The closing should be in effect for a MINIMUM of 3 days. Residents needing to use the adjacent facilities should make arrangements to accomodate the restricted access in the area.
