Community First Development Coalition

Community First! Development Coalition was established in April 2005 as a collaborative support network of Yonkers civic leaders, neighborhood associations and community groups from throughout the city facing common concerns about economic redevelopment. By sharing our knowledge and experiences with each other, Yonkers residents have begun to forge alliances around common interests that strengthen our ability to shape the future of our city.

Board of Contract and Supply Meeting Today at City Hall

The Board of Contract and Supply is holding it's monthly meeting today at the Mayors Reception Room at City Hall at 10:30am. This meeting is not publically noticed anywhere, including the City of Yonkers Website.

We strive to provide accurate & timely information about development proposals and notification of opportunities for community participation in the development process. Our goal is to educate community members about our rightful role in economic redevelopment and to empower ourselves with the tools and resources we need to ensure that our voices are heard. We therefore advocate for greater public access to the public information necessary for citizens to make informed decisions about development, and monitor compliance with open government laws. In addition, we encourage community organization and mobilization efforts as well as community driven and designed development initiatives."
