City Council Meetings Tonight Start at 6:00pm

Please be advised that an Intergovernmental Relations Committee Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 6:00 PM in City Hall, 4th Floor.

The following items will be on the Agenda:

1. Home Rule Request for Bill A4224 to authorize the City of Yonkers to adopt a Local Law creating a bureau of administration adjudication for code and ordinance violations regarding conditions which constitute a threat or danger to the public health, safety or welfare.

2. Home Rule Request for Bill A3887 to established a 25 Year retirement plan for detention officers employed by the City of Yonkers.

3. Home Rule Request for Bill A3200 to authorize the City of Yonkers to implement a demonstration program imposing monetary liability on vehicle owners for the failure of an operator thereof to comply with traffic-control indications in such city; such program shall empower the city to install and operate traffic-control signal photo monitoring devices at intersections; repeals such provisions 3 years after the take effect.

4. Home Rule Request for Bill A3171 to provide for the payment of the salary, wages, medical and hospital expenses of any City of Yonkers detention officer injured or becoming ill in the line of duty.

5. Home Rule Request for Bill A8499 to authorize the City of Yonkers to discontinue the use of certain lands as Parkland and sell and convey such land.

6. Home Rule Request for Bill A6781 to authorize the department of transportation to establish speed limits of less than 30 miles per hour in the City of Yonkers upon the receipt of a resolution passed by the city council and signed by the mayor of such city.

7. Home Rule Request for Bill A6410 to authorize the City of Yonkers to establish one or more transportation improvement districts to improve transportation in certain critical areas of the city.

8. Resolution - to support the Westchester Municipal Officials Association Legislative Priorities.

9. Any additional items that may properly come before this Committee.

We ask the Administration to please have the appropriate Commissioners/Departments Heads/Directors or their representatives attend the meeting so they can address issues relating to their departments.
