Please join the Yonkers Alliance for Community Benefits to discuss our
continuing efforts to ensure that the Struever-Fidelco-Cappelli (“SFC”)
development project in downtown Yonkers is respectful of our quality of life and
beneficial to our community.
We know that Yonkers residents share our concerns about how redevelopment
in Yonkers will affect our community. We also know that, if done appropriately,
with community input, redevelopment can be beneficial for developer and
community alike.
To ensure that concerns around the SFC development are addressed, and that
potential benefits of the development are shared by Yonkers residents, including
those most directly affected, the Alliance intends to negotiate a Community
Benefits Agreement (“CBA”) with SFC. A CBA is a legally binding agreement
between a community and a developer that identifies specific commitments the
developer will make to address community needs and concerns.
Negotiating an effective CBA will also set a strong precedent for future
development in Yonkers. By joining us, you will show your support for
responsible development in Yonkers.
