Yonkers Community Benefits Flyer
Editors Note:
This whole process of CBA is questionable from it's inception. Many who asked to be included in this process were ignored.
Here's the text of the flyer:
YONKERS ALLIANCE FOR COMMUNITY BENEFITS
• The Alliance is fighting for HOUSING, JOBS and a HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT for Yonkers families and their children.
• Streuver, Fidelco, Cappelli (SFC) is pushing the City Council to spend MILLIONS OF PUBLIC DOLLARS on its proposed downtown redevelopment with NO GUARANTEES on these critical issues.
• NOW is the time to call/e-mail the City Council and tell them that...
You support responsible development in Yonkers that provides housing, jobs and parks and supports the arts and Yonkers history for all Yonkers families and their children.
Promises aren’t good enough; Yonkers needs guarantees; Yonkers needs a COMMUNITY BENEFITS AGREEMENT.

What is a Community Benefits Agreement?
• A community benefits agreement (CBA) is a legally binding contract between a developer and the community.
• A CBA guarantees specific commitments the developer will make to meet community needs in return for community support of the project.
• The “Yonkers Alliance for Community Benefits” is a coalition of organizations and residents that supports the responsible development of Yonkers - development that addresses local needs and concerns.
• The Alliance seeks to meaningfully negotiate a CBA with SFC. SFC is trying to push through its development without commitments to the community that are specific and enforceable, and that can be monitored.
The Alliance is supported by the following organizations:
3rd Precinct Community Council • Charter School of Educational Excellence •
• CLUSTER, Inc. • Community Planning Council of Yonkers • Community Voices Heard • Council of PTA’s • East Yonkers Kiwanis • Greyston • Groundwork Yonkers • Housing Action Council • JCY/Westchester Community Partners • Kingdom Christian Cultural Center • Leake & Watts Services, Inc. • Ludlow Park Association • Mt.
