1. BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT LESNICK, MAJORITY LEADER ANNABI,
MINORITY LEADER McLAUGHLIN, COUNCILMEMBERS McDOW,
GRONOWSKI, MURTAGH AND BARBATO:
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Yonkers, in meeting
assembled:
That the settlement by the Corporation Counsel in the amount of
SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY FIVE and 00/100 DOLLARS ($745.00) of the
action entitled ERIC AIESE, Plaintiff against City of Yonkers, as
Defendant, for property damage resulting from an alleged accident when
his parked vehicle was struck by a City of Yonkers Police vehicle in front
of 3 Phillipse Place, Yonkers hereby is approved and the Comptroller of
the City of Yonkers is directed to draw his warrant in the amount of
SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY FIVE AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($745.00) in
favor of said plaintiff.

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Yonkers, in meeting
assembled:
That the settlement by the Corporation Counsel in the amount of
TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00) of the action entitled,
"Juliette Marie McNulty, (residing at 118 Devoe Avenue, Yonkers, New
York 10705) plaintiffs against The City of Yonkers and Joseph Spano,
Defendants", for personal injuries and medical expenses arising out of an
alleged accident alleging that were sustained by said party of the second
part as a result of an automobile accident at the intersection of Wendover
Road and Bajart Place, in the City of Yonkers., on January 20, 2005, be
and the same hereby is approved and the Comptroller of the City of
Yonkers is directed to draw his warrant in the amount of TWENTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00) in favor of said plaintiff and her

RESOLUTION
4. BY COUNCILMEMBER GRONOWSKI, COUNCIL PRESIDENT LESNICK,
MAJORITY LEADER ANNABI, MINORITY LEADER McLAUGHLIN,
COUNCILMEMBERS McDOW, MURTAGH AND BARBATO:
WHEREAS, in 1988, the City of Yonkers hired the independent
consulting firm of Murphy, Mayo and Associates, to conduct a
comprehensive study of the Yonkers Police Department to identify its
strengths and weaknesses;
WHEREAS, in 1989, this study resulted in a 49-page report,
prepared by former New York City Police Commissioner Patrick V. Murphy
and his associate, Louis A. Mayo, former president of the National Institute
of Justice;
WHEREAS, this management study included an analysis of the
Police Department’s goals, specialized police units, foot patrol
assignments and overtime policies;
WHEREAS, for the past several years, the Comptroller of the State
of New York has cited the City of Yonkers for excessive overtime in both
the police and fire departments, calling upon the city to adjust its
deployment of uniformed personnel or identify other measures to reduce
overtime and overtime expenditures;
WHEREAS, the City of Yonkers has commenced several significant
development projects and many more are in the review process, which will
undoubtedly impact services to our residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Yonkers requests that the City Administration commission
comprehensive management studies of the Police and Fire Departments
by experienced and politically impartial management consultants, to
analyze and right-size the police and fire organizations with a view toward
reducing overtime, to ensure that the departments operate as costeffectively
as possible, now and in the years to come..

RESOLUTION
5. BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT LESNICK, MAJORITY LEADER ANNABI,
MINORITY LEADER McLAUGHLIN, COUNCILMEMBERS McDOW,
GRONOWSKI, MURTAGH AND BARBATO:
WHEREAS, Our Lady of Fatima School, located at 963 Scarsdale
Road. in Yonkers will hold its annual Penny Social on Friday, May 8,
2009, and has requested permission from the City Council to place two
banners in the area promoting this event, and
WHEREAS, Our Lady of Fatima School has asked that they be
permitted to place two (2) banners at the location of Central Park Ave. &
Sadore Lane, on the pedestrian over-pass (one north-bound and the other
south-bound) or where ever convenient in that same area on Central Park
Ave., on or around April 9, 2009, and to be removed as soon after May 8,
2009 as is possible.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Yonkers hereby grants permission to Our Lady of Fatima School to
place two banners in the aforementioned location, subject to any terms
and conditions deemed appropriate by the Administration to protect the
best interests of the City of Yonkers.
