Green Policy Task Force announce 124 Yonkers school buses retrofitted with pollution control devices

The City of Yonkers Green Policy Task Force will announce that 124 Yonkers school buses are now retrofitted with pollution control devices and that 185 anti-idling signs are now installed in the bus areas at all Yonkers Public Schools as part of a $300,000 Environmental Protection Agency grant to reduce airborne engine pollutants and promote clean air.

EVENT: 8:30 a.m. - Meet at Beczak Environmental Education Center, 35 Alexander Street, Yonkers for coffee and donuts.

9:00 a.m. - Participants will board two of the retrofitted buses to ride parade-style to the Foxfire School, 1061 N. Broadway (near Executive Blvd.), Yonkers.

9:15 a.m. - Press conference commences with a group of 4th and 5th grade students who are undertaking environmental initiatives at Foxfire.

10:00 a.m. - The bus returns to Beczak
